There’s More to Poker than Texas Holdem – Texas Holdem is taking over the world, but believe it or not there are many other poker games you can play. Most of them fall into one of three categories:
– Stud games (e.g. 7 card stud)
– Draw Game (eg 5 card draw)
– Shared Hand Games (e.g. Texas Holdem)
There’s More to Poker than Texas Holdem
There are also a number of other obscure games that don’t fall into this category, some of the more popular of which are high/low hog, bid poker, and guts. In almost all types of poker games, the hand rankings are the same, with a few minor dispensations that have become the “home made” rule. live draw sgp
Here is a brief description of a number of the different poker games:
5 Card Draw Poker
Played by 3 – 7 players. Each is dealt five cards and there are betting rounds by hand. After betting, players can now re-send three cards in exchange for new ones. (There is one dispensation where a player can exchange four cards if he indicates the fifth card to be an ace).
There is a further betting round and the best winner wins. Draw poker was once the standard way to play, but it has certainly been overtaken by Texas Holdem.
7 Card Stud Poker
Played by 3 – 10 players. Players are dealt two cards face down and one face up and there is a round of betting. Cards 4, 5 and six are then dealt by betting on each spin. The last card is dealt face down and there is another betting round before the fight. 7 Card Stud Poker is still a popular game and is probably number two today for Texas Holdem. data hongkong terbaru
Caribbean Poker
It is a poker gambling game played in a casino between a player and a dealer. Each gets five cards and the player must decide whether his card is worth betting after seeing the dealer’s first card.
If the player has a better hand than the dealer, he will be paid in a fixed odds system depending on the strength of his hand.
Fixed odds range from even for a pair or high card to 100-1 for a royal flush. prediksi togel wla
Pai Gow Poker
Pai Gow is a fairly complex casino game played between a dealer and up to seven players. It is played with a joker that is perceived as an ace or whatever card is needed to complete a flush or straight. There are two variations in hand rankings compared to standard poker rankings, the highest hand being five Aces and A2345 straight being second in AKQJT.
The players and the dealer are dealt seven cards each which they make into two hands, five and two. A five-card hand must be better than a two-card hand. The dealer then shows his cards and plays against each player, five dealer cards with five player cards and two dealer cards with two player cards.
If the dealer wins both hands, he wins.
If the player wins with both hands he wins.
If each player wins one hand there is a “push” which means no money changes hands.
If a tie is tied, the dealer wins, so:
Dealer/Tie – the dealer wins.
Player/Tie – push.
Tie / Tie – the dealer wins.
Texas Holdem
By far the game of poker is very popular in today’s world, perhaps because it is so simple to learn but the most difficult to master. Two cards are dealt to each player, then three face up on the table (flop), another one face up on the table (turn), then one last card face up on the table known as the river. Players use their own two cards (holes) and three cards from the table to create the best five-card hand. There is a round of betting before the flop then before the turn and river, and finally after the river cards are dealt.
